The Bismarck Mandan Chamber EDC hosted a community forum on October 22, 2026, at the Mandan High School Auditorium to learn more about the impact of data centers from a panel discussion moderated by Terry Effertz, Executive Director of TechND. Panel participants included Seth Andorfer, CEO of DCN, Don Flaherty, Mayor of Ellendale, Jonathan Fortner, President & CEO of Lignite Energy Council, Darcy Neigum, VP of Energy Supply for MDU, and Senator Dale Patten, District 26.

Economic Development Conversation with the Mayors
The Bismarck Mandan Chamber EDC recently hosted a conversation featuring Bismarck Mayor Mike Schmitz and Mandan Mayor James Froelich, moderated by Brenda Nagel, president and CEO of the Chamber EDC. The discussion focused on the importance of economic development, how each community funds its economic development efforts and in turn how large-scale economic development projects, including industrial parks and potential data centers, impact both communities.
