1. For ND to be the best state for energy development investment while maintaining our status as the cleanest place to live.

2. My background in marketing and business development and serving the last 7 years on the Public Service Commission uniquely qualify me to preside over the most dynamic energy development in the world. The record we have created the past several years is unequalled anywhere, and I am proud to be part of it.

3. The biggest challenge to development in North Dakota comes from Washington, DC. I see it every day. The intrusion of the federal government on states' rights and individual liberty is obscene and we must stand up to it. Too many politicians yield to it or even embrace it. I believe my role as a state elected official requires me to use my position to vigorously oppose agencies like the EPA who try to convince us they know and care more about us than we do.

4. God has blessed North Dakota with beautiful land, rich topsoil, abundant minerals and sustaining wind and wonderful stewards of it all. We are the envy of the world with a growing and dynamic economy. As long as we incorporate the common sense we were born with, North Dakota has a very bright future.

5. The social media is like any other communication tool. It presents opportunities and threats. Communication has never been easier, nor has abuse. We should resist the overreaction of hyper regulation while enhancing education.

1. I believe North Dakota can become a truly global energy leader, and the PSC will make critical decisions that can help our state achieve its full energy potential. Our rich oil, coal and renewable energy resources, combined with smart investments in new technology, can transform our state into an innovation hub, attracting private investment and providing high-paying jobs and tax revenue for generations to come.

2. For nearly two decades, I have worked on energy policy and technology in North Dakota, regionally and internationally. I have led initiatives involving top government, industry, agricultural and environmental leaders that have delivered commonsense energy solutions, including:
•Our region's first-ever blueprint for advanced coal technologies;
•Comprehensive recommendations from Midwestern governors for energy efficiency, renewables, and coal-based energy; and an
•Independent system to certify renewable electricity credits that serves eight states and Manitoba.

3. We must sustain energy-based economic development and maintain affordable rates, while heeding Governor Art Link's legacy of responsible energy development that protects what makes North Dakota a great place to live, do business and attract a skilled workforce. That's why I have announced comprehensive recommendations for energy efficiency, coal technologies, and wind energy and transmission.

4. Unlike a generation ago, advanced energy technologies now allow us to continue using our oil and coal resources and develop our renewable energy potential, while reducing the environmental footprint of our energy economy.

5. I use my Facebook page as a way to communicate regularly with voters regarding policy positions, news coverage and campaign activities.

1. I see North Dakota as a burgeoning source of innovation and initiative that can foster the economic and energy growth that is needed in this nation. Specifically, I would like to see through the policies of the Public Service Commission more voice given to the needs of individual communities rather than looking at blanket "one size fits all" solutions that favor the many at the expense of the few.

2. As a Libertarian candidate, I do not share a loyalty to the fluctuating whims and policies of the two major political parties. Instead, I aim for policies that reduce the intervention of government into energy markets, and also protect the individual needs of North Dakota citizens.

3. North Dakota has a great deal of potential for energy growth and economic development. However, in this energy boom, it can be easy for the needs of the individual citizens and rural communities to become ignored. Including the voices of these citizens in a thorough, non-partisan examination of the various development opportunities is essential in protecting individual liberties.

4. With our energy growth potential, North Dakota has a chance to show the rest of the nation an example of what innovations can be accomplished while at the same time respecting individual liberties and voices.

5. Social media allows for a wider exchange of information and ideas than was previously possible. However, there is also a greater accountability to those providing the information, as it is more widely available and therefore has a greater impact.
