Community to choose recipient of Chamber's military support award
The Bismarck-Mandan Chamber of Commerce's Military Affairs Committee invites members of the community to help select the recipient of the 2012 Golden Eagle Award.
"We have five very deserving finalists for this year's award," said Chamber President Kelvin Hullet. "Each nominee exhibits outstanding military support from hiring practices to military discounts and internal committees."
The five finalists were selected from a group of nominations submitted by the community and Chamber members. They include, in alphabetical order: Basin Electric Power Cooperative, Bismarck State College, BNSF Railway, I. Keating Furniture World and the University of Mary.
The community is encouraged to vote online at www.bismarckmandan.com for the finalist they feel goes above and beyond to support the military. A button ad on the far left side of the screen directs people to the proper page.
"The Golden Eagle Award ties into the Chamber's mission to support the business community by recognizing a member business and encouraging other businesses to develop military-minded practices," said Committee Chairwoman Shelle Michaels.
Voting is open now through July 31. The winner will be announced at Celebrate Bismarck-Mandan on Aug. 16. For more information about the Golden Eagle Award and Celebrate, visit www.bismarckmandan.com or call 223-5660.
