Frequently Asked Questions
The Chamber launched its first Total Resource Campaign in September 2008. The first year was a learning experience for all involved and we hope that the following frequently asked questions will help you get your arms around this year's TRC.
Why a Total Resource Campaign?
The TRC is a vehicle for the Chamber to become more efficient in a number of ways. First, it is a way for our members to see the breadth of the opportunities available through the Chamber and cherrypick the programs that are most profitable for your business. Second, it allows the Chamber staff to focus on programming and providing services throughout the year. Third, it allows our Chamber member volunteers to participate in the process of assisting our fellow members in choosing marketing opportunities.
How will the Chamber use the money raised in the TRC?
The money raised is utilized for the operating expenses of the Chamber. The Chamber has two revenue sources: member dues and non-dues revenue (events and marketing). This helps fund member services as well as staff salaries and Chamber operating expenses. The budget of the Chamber has not changed; we're just trying to be more efficient in how we manage our budget and your time.
Will my business be able to get sponsorships after the TRC ends on Nov. 4?
If they are still available. While members may elect to purchase sponsorships outside of the TRC, it is at their own risk. Our intent is that we fill all the 2012 sponsorships and marketing opportunities during the TRC timeframe. Odds are good that the sponsorships you want later will be sold now. Making your choices now also allows you to prepare for the expense and maximize your recognition.
How do I know what sponsorships are available?
We hope one of our member volunteers will call on you. If not, call us at the Chamber and we will have someone contact you. If you want to see all of the marketing investment opportunities, go to www.bismarckmandan.com and click on the Total Resource Campaign icon.
You may recieve multiple phone calls from volunteers. We hope you understand that means your business is well thought of by other members. However, if you get too many phone calls, please let us know and we will alert the volunteers.
